Fruitvale Station 2013
This movie captures the final days of Oscar Grant. A black man killed by the hands of incompetent police officers.
This was an important watch in many ways as Michael B. Jordan gives off an amazing performance in this and probably his best so far in his career. It’s edited really well and gives off a nice melodramatic vibe in the first hour.
In the last twenty-five minutes, it recreates Oscar’s murder. It’s intense, infuriating, and downright heartbreaking to watch…

The Banshees of Inisherin 2022
Imagine making a film about a guy that randomly decides to not like you anymore because he thinks you’re boring. That would get me mad too.
The constant bickering between the two leads was a joy to watch thanks to the fantastic writing portrayed on screen. The shenanigans they get to try to one up each other was funny to see.
You can say this is an allegory to war because one day you’ll be allies and then the other day, you’ll be bitter enemies who can’t stand each other.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga 2024
“Do you have it in you to make it epic?"
This film is high octane fuel from the start and never lets go. Similar to Fury Road, George Miller has crafted an excellent action epic with likable characters and themes to latch on to.Anya Taylor-Joy only has a few lines but her mannerisms and physical acting floored me and Chris Hemsworth plays a smug, evil villain in a performance that probably his best of his career.
Despite being niche to general audiences, I hope there’s more Mad Max films in the near future!!

Blade Runner 1982
A staple of innovative filmmaking. Blade Runner is a masterpiece in science fiction and earnestly earns its reputation on being ahead of its time. It has one of the best endings I’ve ever seen, it left me speechless and wanting more. Ridley Scott's best!!
