  Hiroshima Mon Amour 1959

  While watching act 1 I thought, “this has potential to be one of my favourite films” and then everything sort of fell flat past that. Beautifully shot and the dialogue is incredible but story wise I just lost interest. Obviously Resnais made this from a french perspective but even then it felt bizarre that the only main Japanese character (Lui/Eiji Okada) took backseat in a story about the atrocities of Hiroshima ?? I wanted to hear more about his character…
