Probably one too many parallels to the first film and a bit of dodgy CGI on the animals, nevertheless it was an entertaining movie, action packed with good performances. The original still feels like it had more heart and soul to it though and part of me wishes it stayed a stand alone masterpiece.

The Wind That Shakes the Barley 2006
This was a hard one to track down as it wasn’t streaming anywhere and even finding a physical copy was hard but my Irish catholic roots got the better of me and I found one to buy on eBay (an original Dendy DVD). For me the juxtaposed green landscapes of county Cork set against such a brutal story makes the film unique. My favourite actor Cillian Murphy is as always fantastic. A great independent film about historical events everyone may not be familiar with. Erin go Bragh.

Bone Tomahawk 2015
Had this recommended to me by a few people over the last couple years and glad I finally got around to watching it, think red dead redemption mixed with the hills have eyes, performances and pacing were great I was hooked from the get go and glued to the screen which is rare for me at times.
