Alien: Romulus 2024
I Can't Lie To You About Your Chances, But You Have My Sympathies.
The fanservice-y nature of it holds it back from being a really memorable entry in the franchise, but it is still able to entertain with its excellent practical effects, its return to the retro future aesthetic that defined the best entries in the franchise and a likeable (albeit cliché at this point) protagonist who gives us a unique look into human relationships with the signature synthetics.
The CG Ian Holm "tribute" was wholly unnecessary though, and often felt jarring (and a tad creepy).
