  My heart is aching as I watch the credits roll. My own mother suffered from postpartum depression and I’ve suffered regular bouts of depression myself over the past 20 years. Both of which have contributed to me choosing to remain child free out of terror of what my mind could do to myself or a child. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such candid discussions about motherhood and mental health and the stigma surrounding the vast amount of women that don’t fit into that Donna Reed vision of motherhood or indeed womanhood. I desperately want to do something but I just don’t know what.
