    Take off, eh?

    Mad Max: Fury Road

This excuse for a derivative storyline proves there’s no justifiable artistic reason to ever revisit a paradigm shifting classic.

It does prove that a profit obsessed Hollywood production network has no shame or self respect in its desire to appeal to a politically correct crowd that had no time for the original.

Here’s a prediction that I can make without even taking a moment to ponder the ultimate damage to the franchise - there will be an equally pandering sequel to this embarrassment of a reboot.

Having lived in Boston for 4 years and seen firsthand what sports means to that town, I can attest that the Farrelly Brothers have captured the essence of what baseball means to true fans by following a team with true fanatics.

Look past the acting performances - which aren’t as nearly as important as the storyline - so you can immerse yourself in the difficulty a Red Sox believer has in trying to balance all the other parts of life with their obsession.

Without exception, there is no movie that as is visually dynamic and in sync with the storyline as this.  Only Wes Anderson films can deliver as thoughtful and coordinated a set design and deliberate and meaningful scene editing.

In short, the screenwriters did an excellent job and delivered a clear cinematic spectacle that was creative as it was morally meaningful.  But the real heroes of this production were the storyboard designer, the digital effects coordinator  and ultimately the Director, who kept everything, everywhere and all at once on track to make a multiverse film any viewer can enjoy.
