I quickly grew tired of the GTA gags, and the only thing that kept me laughing was hearing others in the cinema enjoying it.
When the game took us away from the main objective to put on a Shakespeare play and presented a sob story that felt very scripted and fabricated it lost me.
The game itself can only be funny for so long, especially if you’ve played GTA.
The meat was in the gag, not the punchline.
I was watching this stuff in 2013, for me there's nothing entirely new.
At first, I wasn't completely sold on the film, the beginning felt quite uninspired visually and Ethan Hawkes's performance just didn't sell me.
His face, his voice, it didn't work for me.
But once we realise whose story this is, it gradually reels us into the journey that is to come.
There is a great use of grounded yet fantastical Nordic mythology in the stat makes the film feel like a genuine prophecy.

Borrowed this film from a bookshelf at film school, I remember seeing the lineup scene as a kid.
Fantastic, really entertaining and happily surprised by the way it’s crafted.
Was engaged the whole time with some pretty darn good performances and great editing.
I just finished it and will need to let it simmer in my head for a few days, like a getting off a roller coaster, it’s hard to reflect on the ride when your skin still burns from the wind!
