The Devil's Backbone 2001
A more vulgar version of Pan's Labyrinth with more nuanced and sculpted characters & more brutality. Also it's his film before he goes fully green with colorgrading.
Overall I adore this movie, but it shared so many elements I like from Pan's Labyrinth but Pan's Labyrinth just did more to me as it's a representation of girlhood(tho Ofelia as a character is less developed as Carlos from this)
