Godzilla vs. Kong 2021
Whether your #TeamGodzilla or #TeamKong, this film (almost) fulfills all our MonsterVerse dreams.
What makes it great? Epic score, beautiful cinematography, and some brutal monster showdowns. On the flip side, Warner Bros.' MonsterVerse fails to match its grand-scale monster superstars with worthy mortal characters - the only memorable characters being Bernie Hayes (Brian Tyree Henry) for his comedic interventions and Jia (Kaylee Hottle) for her acting. Not a film if seeking food for thought, but ideal for a moment of mindless fun.

Fey has Mean Girls, and now Poehler has Moxie.
With a new take on the High School experience, the film centers on the effects of toxic masculinity and teen struggles that anyone, regardless of gender, can identify, one way or another, with their own experience. Although the film has two or three unnecessary scenes, its thought-provoking message and emotional engagement alert and bring the viewer into tough and needed conversations.

The Snyder Cut is the filmic equivalent to the blissful Men in Black neuralyzer, gracefully erasing our memories from the subpar 2017 version.
Snyder's vision mixed with a voluminous budget fathered this beautiful four-hour epic. This film does justice (pun intended) to each hero's participation, specifically to Affleck's Batman, Leto's Joker, Miller's Flash, and Fisher's Cyborg. Without a doubt, visually stunning - although the film could've been a lot more enticing without all those unnecessary slow-motion scenes. Yet, this film is worth the time.
