An important film in Canadian Indigenous History

A really important piece of Canadian History that must be shown in classes. The forced assimilation, brutal abuse and long term genocide of the indigineous peoples is still ongoing in our country.

Every act of reconciliation matters, however nothing will ever be enough to apologize and reverse the damages sustained. 

Till this day, we have politicians who ignore Canadas abuse of their indigenous and gloat about their successful cultural genocide of the indigenous peoples. 

While Canadians are upset that Donald Trump wants to take over Canada, no one bothers to show that same empathy or acknowledgement to the vert first peoples of this land.

I can't even begin to express the way this movie made me feel. Everything about the film was so well done. The yearning and longing settled so deep within my own chest that It felt hard to breathe. I love women
