  I feel like so much of the painfully hilarious tone can come across as mean spirited but I think it lives in taboo and selfishness while also making light of it in a realistic, and unfortunately relatable way. It feels like it's main goal is to make you feel uncomfortable by facing a side of reality we don't like to think about.

  There is really something to be said for a movie that humanizes people that are seen as unreedemable.

  I haven't seen it since I was 8 but I'm positive it's the greatest film ever made, to think he could make such a masterpiece after that monstrosity of from dusk till dawn

  The Element of Crime 1984

  I have mixed feelings about this movie. There are lots of parts I love, but over all my main take away is I didn't get what "it insists upon itself" meant until I watched this. It feels like LVT is trying to be too smart for his own good and losing any nuance or subtlety. Overall not a bad directorial debut even though the over narration seems more like a crutch than a compelling driving point.

  This is one of those few movies where I was completely in love from the first shot. PTA has such a intrancing style of cinematography that really makes the movie work for me. To be fair I'm also definitely biased toward the nurodivergent guy trying to fit into the world trope.
