    I’m so surprised this movie was this good.

    Two great decisions were made. One is to cover a short period of time instead of a whole life, the latter usually leads to wonky pacing and editing imo.

    The other was to let Bob’s character be enigmatic and open to interpretation, as he actually is. While this is a pretty basic biopic format on the surface, they mostly refrained from constructing some reductive narrative to make things neater and more palatable.…

    Did the annoying thing in music movies where the live performances sound like modern studio recordings, it’s common but it really takes me out of it. Music was mostly good but also that guy sounded like a douchey singer from 2013. Also stupid lighting in the Gaslight? Everyone looked like wax? 

    Movie was good when it was funny and when the main guy wasn’t talking.
