The Substance 2024
The most grotesque and colorful horror film I’ve seen in recent history. I particularly loved how men were portrayed in this film. Messy, loud, and comically disgusting mirrored by beautiful colorful and anxious performances from Demi and Margaret. Demi Moore easily outshined Margaret and should've won the oscar.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon 2007
Very loosely follows the Yakuza video game series. Miike tries his best to compress a 40 hour game into a 2 hour runtime. There’s lots of subplots that don’t really go anywhere and characters are introduced then never used. I can’t tell if it mimics the game series really well or really badly.
