The Menu 2022
I absolutely loved this movie. I just fell in love with the concept, the humor, and the performances of some of the characters. It's definitely not a masterpiece and the story feels like it's falling apart by the time you're done but man did I have such a good time watching this thing. Despite the rating I give it for its aesthetic quality know that I think this movie is great

I went into this movie expecting a different story. What I got instead was a little disappointing... I think the initial concept had a lot of potential that was left untapped in service of telling a different story.
The story that was told wasn't entirely bad but it wasn't anything special or outstanding. Characters at times felt bland, there were questions left unanswered (this left a bad aftertaste because if the movie had gone another direction we could've gotten more…

Don't Look Up 2021
Been really wanting to see this one for a while now. Definitely fed into my cynicism of the world. This movie filled me with frustration and despair but also gave me some laughs and helped me to recognize the magnitude of beauty in the midst of a dying world (even if in reality it's more of a slow grueling demise). There were bits here and there that were too heavy handedly trying to speak on current events which somewhat detracted from the narrative as well as some narrative choices that I wouldn't agree with but as an overall experience "Don't Look Up" was a great time.
