(500) Days of Summer 2009
A couple that displays toxic romantic ideals but often reverses the gender identities traditionally prescribed to them. Tom is shown to be feminine as Summer is shown to be masculine in this insightful commentary concerning how our romances relating to gender-based expectations may be better realized through a spectrum rather than a binary absolute.
With that being said, this film is a sobering reminder that I am androgynously toxic as I see myself In both characters.
