  Never thought I’d see Matt Damon with a South African accent. Overall a good movie about leadership and how sport’s role in a country admins politics. However, this movie could have done a better job at playing on the emotions of the event. The last 25 minutes was basically just a rugby game.

  Classic story of a pop star who falls into drugs, alcohol, and gets taken advantage of. I’m normally not a fan of musical numbers, but it gets a pass since it’s Elton John. Overall, a good movie that adds some additional meaning to some of Elton’s songs.

  This movie has incredible cinematography that adds a lot of depth to this film. The acting really does a great job at taking the audience through the many emotions within the film. My biggest downside is the movie is relatively predictable, I figured out who was going to be voted Pope after the 2nd vote and I’m sure many people could figure it out earlier. The only thing that’s hard to predict is the slight plot twist at the end. Overall, a good movie that portrays emotion and politics well through great cinematic shots

  The first third of the movie starts off incredibly slow and confusing. It progressively gets better and by the end you can connect with the characters. Interesting movie to watch especially now with the context of Covid.
