The nifty underlying concept occasionally shows through but generally this was pretty dumb. It certainly has its own voice, but it’s one primarily defined by unearned swagger — this movie is nowhere near as clever, or casually deep, or unsettlingly sardonic as it thinks it is.

Mixed feelings, which makes me sad.
So Dunkirk is beautiful, and epic, and painstakingly made. I've never seen a film look so real. Visually speaking, the thing may be visionary.
The performances were excellent and the little dialogue there was worked nicely.
