Gorgeous, romantic, melodramatic. Well worth the watch, but it might feel like a bit of a slog if you stop drooling over the cinematography and set design at any point and pay attention to what the boring characters are saying. First Marvel movie I’ve seen in a long time. Action-packed, with a surprisingly strong performance from Scarlett. A few glaring weaknesses: bad/inconsistent accents, undeveloped/not-so-believable relationships, botched emotional hooks (a vest that had only been mentioned once before later becomes a meaningful, tear-laden gift?), and a lack of believable motivations overshadowed some fairly cool (but at times lukewarm) action scenes.
