Definitely 5 stars for me if another explanation besides magic cloning machine was used for Angier’s resolution. A well grounded movie about illusions throwing actual magic/ science fiction at you out of nowhere just seems out of place

Robert Pattinson is a great actor
Movie gets into very interesting philosophical points but chooses not to resolve them in any meaningful way
The whole predicament of expendables/doubles sort of becomes irrelevant in the third act, when the focus of the movie attaches itself to the creepers. Felt like two different movies
The movie worked a lot better as a commentary on the ethics of expendables/cloning than it did as a sci-fi starship troopers kind of commentary on imperialism
