The MCU turns in a solid single after a season of stolen bases. The acting is very engaging and has several great scenes. The story is pedestrian but coherent and engages me. The action has individual stakes, which most recent movies and TV shows have been missing. It has action to shape the pace but at least when they occur something happens as result of the bout. It is a more thrilling adventure than expected, as the lack of overly drawn anthropomorphic traits in the characters makes their actions a matter of observation and guesswork. You never can quite get where instinct and agency begin and end. Thus, sometimes it's like watching a horror movie as the animals do something you know as a human is dangerous but have no idea about. But still an arrestingly fascinating sight to behold, with plenty to talk about after the credits roll.

Its is a surprising celebration of the mess that multiple studios and continuity have created. I find it strange how it left me feeling.
