Captain America: Brave New World 2025
This was not a good movie, but I didn’t hate it. Really suffers from the assumption that everyone that watches it will not only be in-tune to the events of the Celestials (which came out 4 years ago) or the Falcon/Winter soldier TV show (also 4 years ago) but also the Incredible Hulk, which is BARELY MCU and came out SEVENTEEN (17!) years ago.

Honestly 3.5 stars feels a bit generous. Moments of good animation, but the blending of 2D and 3D felt lazily and poorly done. At times was very confusing. Dialogue was often not great. The Queen's Gambit 2020
Call me a sucker for anything with Eastern European vibez but that’s the best damn miniseries I’ve seen since Chernobyl. An absolutely stunning cast of characters, the development is beautiful, it rekindled my 2-years dormant interest in chess, and goddamn I almost cried during that last final scene (I’ve seen/interacted with my fair share of old Russian chess players and they are the sweetest people and they will also thrash your amateur ass at chess).

Great great movie. Probably more like a 4.25 for me, but we’ll give it 4.5 instead of 4 just for the Jennifer Lawrence monologue about how the Eagles win when her and Pat are hanging out. Absolutely incredible performances from her and Bradley Cooper throughout.
