I realize I have a lot of opinions but that doesn't mean I think they are correct

Deeply biased by the aggressive use of Santa Fe landmarks, also by its very fun ratio and distribution of "vampires are literally monsters" to "vampires are sexy and make great tragic protagonists". A lot of vampire movies/books go hard early on the allure of immortality and then try to shock you with the reveal that drinking blood might be ~evil~, but this one really had me thinking it was going to be 100% "terrifying inhuman monsters"! Not to imply that the plot twists, such as they were, were in any way subtle or surprising. Just interestingly different and of course very well shot.

Fully does not pass the Sam Raimi "don't be boring" rule of horror, and 2000% not qualified to go near themes of addiction and recovery with a 10-foot pole. I am going to assume it wasn't even trying to be a comedy-horror, because it certainly never succeeded. Unfortunate that it shares a name with two much better movies that are somehow both scarier and funnier.

Up there with that one episode of the Lone Gunmen in the "hard to believe this was written before 9/11" rankings. (If anyone else is having trouble finding this, all other routes failed but my public library's ILL system came through! Another win for libraries)
