  Everything went swimmingly until the cannibal leader came out on stage and started dancing. The longer this frenetic dance number went on, the more my rating dropped. The ending was a little underwhelming and pointless too.

  It probably wasn't a good idea to revisit Alien - for me, I mean - prior to watching Prometheus. This film is loud and stupid in parts with a distractingly robust score in comparison to the 1979 classic. To argue that we should perhaps forget about Alien when watching this film is a poor defence. It's virtually impossible to dismiss the similarities between Scott's two films when all of the interesting aspects of Prometheus are what it shares with Alien.…

  Lush and hypnotic from the very start, while also having some of the most visceral action sequences I've seen in a war movie. This epic also has an amazing ensemble cast and one of my favorite Hanz Zimmer scores. What else could be said about this perfect film?
