Nosferatu 2024
Me: Wonderfully shot, hailing back to the F.W. Mernau version and keeping everything almost monochrome, instilling a gothic horror feel and giving us a sense that something is leeching away at life all around. There are directional nods to Francis Ford Coppola’s version every now and then, too.
The film even draws from folkloric elements and makes the vampire, in the form of Count Orlock a figure of death, literally giving ‘Nosferatu’ its meaning of “Plague Carrier”.
