Mad Eye Moody recalls a story of his time as Spider-Man learning from Thor about how to go fishing. Only the fish has vitiligo and doesn’t know how to get over spilt milk. Also Scarecrow from the Dark Knight series is now known as Mr. Joy to help Thor with his fishing problems, but he’s basically Tom Hanks in Castaway but with whale PTSD and no Wilfred to have fun. Bruh another testament to PG movies being elite. The simple themes of goodness and kindness hit hard. This could have been even higher if I didn’t know the plot but frickin 4 year old me spoiled it. They added enough original content to make it a good watch though. This used to be my go-to recommendation for a movie despite everyone I showed it to telling me it sucked. Idk why this viewing was different but I showed Abby and boy was I ever wrong. The plot moves so slowly and there’s a lot of weird cringe stuff. The most embarrassing thing is we watched this after I had recommended it to Abby’s family as “the best movie ever.” And it’s terrible. What a shame.

This rating looks like a meme coming from me but I genuinely can’t think of many other movies that I can watch every year for like 10 years in a row and still have a heartfelt reaction to. If I could watch any movie again for the first time it’d definitely be this one.

Mel Gibson never misses. Great cinematography, super realistic, and also extremely accurate to the Gospels. There’s a reason this has been the go-to movie for Christians for 20 years now.
