  The most okay-est of movies. Could be much better if the film dived further into each of its main characters' motivations and emotions (hard to do when your movie is about emotionally-stunted motorcycle riders, I know) instead of devolving into a contest to see which actor can look the coolest while smoking cigarettes.

  The absolutely insane amount of running gags in this film makes my head spin. My favorite is Pele constantly singing acoustic versions of David Bowie songs in Portuguese. The first few he is by himself on watch. Then, later, someone is watching him, I forget who. Even later, we see him in the recording booth, singing into a microphone. Then, during the credits, he's on stage in a tuxedo, presumably playing for a vast audience. The progression of this running gag is hilarious and genius. This is easily my favorite Wes Anderson, and I immediately wanted to watch it again once it was over.

  This is astonishingly bad. Like, I'm flabbergasted that this exists. That actual people thought this movie was a good idea. The first half is basically exactly what we've seen in every iteration past the second sequel. Not great, but familiar, at least. And then I guess the entire crew had a collective brain aneurysm because everything goes so far off the rails that somebody should have gone to prison for this. What this film does to the original's legacy should…
