There's a notable reoccurring theme among seemingly any given review of this film to provide comparisons to either "American Psycho," "Heathers," or even both movies at once. And while I do see the similarities, I think those comparisons, despite their good intentions, are a tad unfair-as if suggesting that "Thoroughbreds" needs the crutch of popular films in a similar genre, when it actuality it does a fine job of standing on its own.
