There's a notable reoccurring theme among seemingly any given review of this film to provide comparisons to either "American Psycho," "Heathers," or even both movies at once. And while I do see the similarities, I think those comparisons, despite their good intentions, are a tad unfair-as if suggesting that "Thoroughbreds" needs the crutch of popular films in a similar genre, when it actuality it does a fine job of standing on its own.

There is perhaps no man alive who better thrives in the genre of "muscly men shooting people" more so than Arnold Schwarzenegger. Certainly, fierce competition exists in the forms of, say, Stallone or Snipes, but Arnold has worked tirelessly throughout the final stretch of the 20th Century amassing a body count that would make most dictators envious.
