There is so much courage in these extended sequences with seemingly no apparent destination. Great pay offs. Hamaguchi is fearless.
It’s impossible to make 5 hours feel like it “flew by” and I doubt I could make myself watch this in a single day without being in a theater setting. However, the runtime felt completely warranted.
