    Quite possibly Nolan’s best film.

The sound design and use of the incredible score is a real triumph on its own.

The clever editing builds so much tension and curiosity around a story that’s public record, forcing the viewer to forget what they know from history, and instead ingest this as a narrative story rather than a historical account.

A truly Star-Studded Cast breathes real life into this film, with A+ performances from everyone.

Some viewers may find it a bit long, but for me, I’ll sit through any length of movie for a compelling story, and that’s exactly what I got from this.

Ezra Miller is a disgusting human being, and their behavior is probably going to cost this film a lot of money that it should be earning. While I hope that they are able to get whatever help they need to get through whatever they're going through, I also hope those wronged by Miller (and the families of those wronged) are able to get some justice.

Now that we've gotten all that aside...

    This movie rules.

    This is what happens when…

This was painful to get through.

Twenty minutes into this movie and I wanted to chug cyanide.

Thirty minutes into this movie and Wahlberg had about 30 seconds of screen time.

I’ve never seen a comedy with so few jokes. Rather than write anything funny, they try to make comedy out of painfully awkward and uncomfortable exchanges.

What I took away from this movie is that being a dedicated stay-at-home dad makes you weak, being a working mom makes you negligent, and being a dedicated bachelor makes you an idiot.

Also…they dragged poor Seal into this, didn’t they?

    Woof…just woof.

It's weird. So very, very weird. In all the best ways, though. In ways that only Henry Sellick can do.

The animation is classic, but with just enough modern updates to make it really pop. Stellar voice cast, though the story is at times a little all over the place.

A return to form for the acclaimed director.
