  Everyone is top notch. I had fun. It just felt a little too light and breezy and inconsequential to me. I wish we were allowed more time to luxuriate in this world and these characters.

  Mysterious, off-putting, discombobulating visual composition and editing, beautiful greek landscapes, beautiful people, sometimes very naked. Poisonous piss.

  Director Justin Anderson's first film. He told me after the movie that because he never went to film school, he never learned traditional movie visual grammar, so he planned and composed shots like paintings.   The Paris, the start of Bleak Week. I will always remember this screening not for the movie but for what happened before and after.

  Still reeling from the disastrous Conformist streaming-from-Amazon screening earlier in the day, I settled into this showing, introduced by Ari Aster.

  As he was wrapping up his remarks, some asshole in the audience yelled out, "Excuse me! I have a question that only the great Ari Aster can answer for me!"

  Everyone was confused and yet…
