    Very '70s for an '80s movie and not just because of the setting.

    Spent the first part wondering how much research Cher had to do to play a normal person, but within 20 minutes I'd pretty much forgotten it's her. Well done, Cher. (And Streep and Russell, but that was to be expected.)

    About 20 years after seeing this for the first time, I've realized that the key to enjoying this movie, at least for me, is just not looking at the subs. This is shot like Argento doesn't know or care about what the fuck's going on, so why should the audience? Each scene is its own visual trip and whether it moves the story along or not is only incidental. Really glad I was able to give it another shot in a big screen.
