“We did not fight the enemy; we fought ourselves”
Holy fawkkk😫
Gonna start off by saying that the dramatic irony makes this very stressful. It works because it shows that even if David knew the blokes raped his wife, he wouldnt be fighting them off for her. He says he lives there and he doesnt want them (blokes) in his house, totally dismissing the fact that amy lives there with him. He wouldve done it anyway for himself, for the love of the game. Even the blokes searching for their missing…
This works better as a parody of what it’s trying to portray
Picture this:
-Alone at theatre
-maybe 7 people there because movie has been out for a while
-couple behind me chatting a bunch
-not whispering
-the gf reacts at every little thing audibly
-brain starts anticipating for next reaction
-very distracted
-cannot immerse myself
-frustration
-approaching threshold
-hits comical shush with index finger placed vertically over mouth
-doesn’t work
-second try
-They still chat but whisper kind of
-zen mode
-try to block it out
-enjoy rest of movie
-movie over
-go to pub
-drink
-catch last minutes of canucks game
-they win
-leave
-walk around town aimlessly
-go home
