i have so many questions. Really enjoyed the quite profound discourse on love, emotion, relations and the post-human self, however I must admit that the striking white, Western dystopian setting kind of broke the charm.

Most remarkable, felt like a much different style of not only Coppola, but the American 70s in general. Particularly interesting was the acting, as well as the portrayal of characters, their actions and manner, seeming much more 'real,' organic. As to the plot itself, I was really captivated by the surveillance theme, echoing Hitchcock's Rear Window and Kachyňa's Ucho. Great depiction and overall technical execution of Harry's paranoia, with tons of little hints at the character's loss of sanity. A great film.

Catching the 10pm Modernissimo screening in the first row was definitely one of the greatest cinematographic experiences I've had the pleasure of seeing. This film has a deeply special place in my heart, cementing what I value most about my passion in cinema. With each viewing (by now probably the fourth) I further discover its depth, enchanted by the genius world of Lynch. CHE BELLISIMO, speechless.

The Cronenbergian technodystopian narrative to my impression fits perfectly the Caligari-like (almost expressionist) acting and format, each scene prompting further resemblances to other works, most notably the Arronovsky's brain-pen shot. Combined with a masterwork soundtrack of heavy industrial noise, the entire process…
