i fear guadagnino has topped his catalog with this one. this feels like everything a guadagnino film should be and more. you have the unbearable tension, the gradual story-building, and the outstanding performances. every scene makes you feel closer to the character. guadagnino makes you FEEL their emotions. the way tashi observes the game is how YOU observe the film. the conematography and sound design is unlike any other film i’ve watched. this is peak innovation in cinema and it is what a lot of directors lack nowadays.
