Oppenheimer 2023
Nolan’s best work to date. Paired with the fantastic and beautiful soundtrack by Göransson, this film perfectly encapsulates the mind and life of J. Robert Oppenheimer. Emotion, thought, and reflection are consistently portrayed throughout the movie, the history is compelling, the stakes advance the plot at a fantastic pace, and the overall composition of the film’s acts is perfect. Visuals are amazing, actors are amazing, the film is amazing.

An incredible win for Marvel. The relationship dynamic between Reynolds’ Deadpool and Jackman’s Wolverine is both hilarious and well crafted. Action scenes were mostly very well made, besides the shaky “action” camerawork in the void-base fight.
Plot was basic but decent, though it relied on a drastically large and poorly thought-out McGuffin which they called an “anchor being”. Essentially a dumber version of what they call a “nexus being” in the comics.

Twisters 2024
A very remakey remake. The opening scene defines exactly what I just said.
Action was quite interesting, plot made sense and was pretty cohesive. Unfortunately, there’s only so much one can do when making a film about tornadoes- queue the romance. Romance side of the film was pretty boring and cheesy, the whole plot twist with Javi was pretty obvious as soon as the film displayed how wealthy he’d become. Also killing a tornado??

Longlegs 2024
Fantastic horror film. It managed to make me feel scared and creeped out the whole duration of the film. Nick Cage did an incredible job playing Longlegs. Only problems with the film was the lack of depth in the explanation of Lee Harker’s powers, and also how the Silver “brain” orbs worked in relation to the child they were attached to. Bit too large of an emphasis on the otherwordly-satanic-paranormal side of the plot. Otherwise, it didn’t rely on cheap scares and jumps to make you feel fear, the whole film conveyed fear itself. Fantastic.
