Exagerated and comical at times, yes, to a point that made me, at around the 30-minute mark, question the rating this movie has here. But then it got so deep, so melancholic, so sad but so beautiful. To value the small things in life, to connect with others and to develop true empathy, these are the things this movie can teach about. I am so happy for making it to the end.

Name all the good sci-fi films there are about moral ambiguity and human/robot hybrids and Mars Express was probably inspired by every single one if them.

So you have Sir Ben Kingsley, an Oscar winning actor with a legendary career. You approach him and present him to this movie that mixes Chinese culture, martial arts and superheroes, and you tell him that he is needed to portrait an old, crazy-eyed actor in it. Then, Ghandi himself tells you he's in. And that's how you realize your movie is something big.

The story, the visuals, the OST, everything is too good.

So FINALLY I watched a Matt Dillon movie that I liked. Well, "liked" is always a complex word when we talk about Lars von Trier films, but you get the picture.
Regarding von Trier, not in my Top 3 of his movies, but a nice one anyway.

P.S.: Vá Charroco, adivinha lá qual foi a música dos end credits deste filme
