What's Love Got to Do with It? 2022
I had the pleasure of interviewing director Shekhar Kapur for the film, check it out here: glamadelaide.com.au/interview-shekhar-kapur-whats-love-got-to-do-with-it/

The Mission 1986
Looks stunning with a banger soundtrack from Morricone and great cast.
It straddles white saviour ideas but just…about stays on the right side of not doing that.
I’m quite partial to historical dramas about religious missions (despite not being religious) as a subject, so enjoyed it. Not up there with Scorsese’s The Silence but funny that Liam Neeson played a priest on a mission twice.

Expertly crafted but the story itself is so self-involved and vapid that I just didn’t care at all. I was wanting it to end with about an hour to go, which is never a good sign.
Up there with Breathless as one of those films that you can respect and appreciate its impact, especially for its time, but seems to retain its reputation based on cinephiles not wanting to appear stupid or that they “didn’t get it”.
It is very well made, so I’m sure I’ll like other Fellini films that have a more engaging story.
