The Brutalist 2024

Brutal in every way it gave me a headache the music was scary the scenes were harrowing i loved the terrifying monolith and sepia footage. Quite disconcerting which is what it is meant to do - it worked on me and whilst im not massively happy about that i do respect it. loved the crane shots and emulation of 50s camera angles at points.

Its a 10/10 from me. Literally incredible. Some Jake Gyllenhaal performances I hate, some I love. This one I adored. So good. He gets a dancing scene. The cuts are so weird and unpredictable. Some wonderful twists and turns. Chris the Kid is so so so good. Unhinged new yorkers!!! I cried.

Just such a good movie. RIP Brittany Murphy because she nails this performance she is probably the funniest person in the movie imo. So good.

Its so good. A little campy I would argue (in a good way). Renton is hot. Begbie is very scary. Set in Edinburgh but most of it is filmed in Glasgow. Everytime I walk past the alleyway off Princes St where he puts his hands on the car bonnet I imagine doing the same. Its great.
