  I watched it at a cinema and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I thought it was going to be just a normal war or epic movie but many times it took me by surprise. It also felt quite modern and I feel that's mostly due to Peter O'Toole and Omar Sharif who both gave exceptional performances. Honestly this is a movie anyone should watch.

  This is the second Douglas Sirk movie starring Rock Hudson and Jane Wyman I watched first one being Magnificent Obsession and I felt it was a bit of an improvement. Don't get me wrong Magnificent Obsession was still very good (I'm going to review it in the future) but I felt this was an expansion on Sirk's talents and abilities.
