It’s a good film, although I’ve probably seen it too often before to put it on my watch again and again list. Feels a bit dated now as obviously forensic detection has improved massively in the years since it was made. Put that aside and it’s ok.
Misses the mark. Could have been a good one but failed. Everything resolved in a bit of a patchy way and far too speedily, as if the director was told he had 3 hours to tell the story and then at the last moment this changed to 90 minutes.
Meh!
Whoa……!
I found the religious arguments incredibly interesting and read afterwards that a great deal of time was spent researching, it shows. Very clever.
Hugh Grant is a revelation, he doesn’t need to say or do much whilst oozing malevolence. It’s hard to recognise the bumbling British toff from 3WAAF.
Bit of a formulaic horror but the well informed info about the various Faiths and HG make this very worthwhile.
I don’t know why I missed this film. Have always heard about it and that it is quite good. A bit formulaic with the boss not trusting his most experienced employee until it’s too late.
Tension built without any significant effects, just like films used to do it, with acting and music and the implication of what’s to come rather than relying on cgi.
Plus always good to watch Pierce Brosnan.
