Mean Girls 2024
I am very familiar with and a fan of the original Mean Girls movie as well as the Broadway adaptation. This film attempted to be both as well as being its own thing and it got lost in the mix. The reworking of the songs turned them from classic broadway hits to trendy pop songs.
There were some needed switches to keep the material modern that were made by doing away with the eating disorder jokes and the homophobia.
