okay, so!! i absolutely loved this film. ricki lake, brendan fraser, and shirley maclaine are incredible in this found family film. i hated the character of steve and i loved the relationship between bill and connie. the last shot of the wedding ring with their names now engraved was so cute. this film made me fall in love with brendan fraser. his character took in connie and although he knew her true identity all along he still fell for her. overall, great film with some funny and heart warming scenes. one of my new favorite films!

The Iron Claw 2023
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
this film is beautifully made yet has an incredibly tragic story. i wanted to give zac efron who plays kevin a big hug. i enjoyed the acting from all four actors who played the brothers, they all were great performances. this story of the van erich brothers is unlike any other, very interesting for a film adaptation. i did cry at the very end of the film, especially in the last few scenes where the brothers reunite and kevin realizes his sons can serve as his brothers as well.

The Holdovers 2023
this is so good, i love the aesthetic of the 1970s. such brilliant mise en scene with the characters, funny dialogue, and a great soundtrack from Labi Siffre and Cat Stevens. it's such an interesting story with such raw emotion. the film is a textured and nostalgic piece about lonely, mismatched individuals who are stuck together over Christmas break. also, it's awesome that this film was shot on an arri alexa mini which really adds to the film's aesthetic.

Saw 2004
very creepy film and it's the epitome of one of the first torture films of the early 2000s. john kramer is an incredibly scary villian who bases his kills off of moral judgement. felt really bad for adam at the end. most of the kills are voyeuristic which also adds to the horror aspect. left me feeling claustrophobic.
