  Spooky and atmospheric, but if you've seen the Real Housewives of Orange County, it is IMPOSSIBLE not to see Vicki Gunvalson in Nicholas Cage's villain.

  I loved this film and it's rather bleak portrayal of the failings of capitalism for a supposed new middle class attempting to emerge out of post-military rule. Ah-Chen's boss making a remark about "why go to the US to work when the US company can come here" is hilarious in 2024 though I am unclear if it's a intended as a critique of American imperialism in Taiwan.
