  Maybe I'm just a hater, but I am upset will how good Ariana Grande is in this.

  Cynthia Erivo is perfect, no notes there. I am concerned about the sequel since all of the really good songs are in the first half.

  Amazingly visceral. Blunt in the way horror films should be around sensitive topics like toxic misogyny, destructive beauty standards, body dysmorphia, and even some references to generational trauma.

  One of the most exciting pieces of cinematography I've seen in a while. The use of disturbingly clean and symmetrical set pieces to foil the characters evolution.

  Animation style was perfect. Benefitted and suffered by the jumping from idea to idea. Benefited by adding to the vibe of the story being written by two small kids who are goofy, but also was hurt by establishing plot threads that don't get tied.

  Despite having purposefully 2-dimensional characters, the movie has some of the best character development I've seen in kids film.

  I loved that my son loved it, but not a movie I'd choose to put on again.
