crazy inspiring. the stories of the runners are well told and real, and the shots of hong kong's trails made me want to start trail running tomorrow. I think this movie might have started something in me

it's crazy how immediately and fully you feel like tish and fonny were meant for each other - how deeply you can tell they care for each other from their quiet moments together on screen

how does the power of love compare against science, and pushing the boundary of human knowledge? what's the morality of making that personal choice for yourself? how do we choose between living our lives for our own desires vs. for the advancement of the world?
at least in this case, tarkovsky seems to support the former, portraying the goals of human ambition as a distraction - we're looking to answer questions that we don't want answers to. in 1972, conquering…
way too dumb to understand this on my own but watching with friends helped. as someone who is not creative at all, it takes a bit of a leap of imagination to understand this movie as it comments on the creative process. I think it gave me some appreciation for the forces involved by the end of it, and I'm sure I'll pick up more as I stew on it or if I watch it again
