With each movie, it gets harder and harder to believe that Dom Toretto and his crew are mere humans. Severe car crashes, flying through the air and landing on a car windshield at full speed, being shot; these are all minor inconveniences to everyone.
Also, the scene of Dom and Hobbs talking to each other toward the end is the greatest cinematography this series has had so far. 👬
Fantastic documentary about the making of "We Are The World" that was a perfect fly-on-the-wall perspective of a historic night. A bunch of random thoughts on this:
- I will never look at Al Jarreau the same
- Kenny Loggins recounting Paul Simon's "John Denver" joke is absolutely hilarious
- All the bits about Bob Dylan are comedy gold
- Huey Lewis was sweating his ass off the whole time
- Smokey saying he was one of the only people…
An absolute joy to see Phil and his son Nic sit and chat about Phil's career, particularly his drumming. It was cool to see the vast array of different drummers talk about their love for Phil's work, although I don't think I need to hear anyone sing the "In The Air Tonight" fill again lol. The only L of this was not being able to include Phil's or Genesis' music for licensing reasons, I assume.
Overall, this was a labor of love to honor my all-time favorite drummer and one of my favorite artists ever. Kudos to Drumeo for putting this together! 🥁
