American Beauty 1999
Kevin Spacey’s character has aged astonishingly poorly, honestly it’s a good movie about bad people. I’ve seen the red flag age gap in movies, and I’m glad this does NOT reward that behavior.

Walking out of the theater I’m still trying to connect the dots of it all. It’s a fun, messy, tribute to the fun, messy Fox universe. Jackman and Reynolds chemistry is infectious and keeps the flow going. (It’s incredibly disjointed but I expected nothing less from this) It dives deep into the Fox lore, and might throw jokes over the audience’s head, but for the devotees, it’s a good tongue in cheek nod. I wasn’t bored by this one. I am a huge fan of the genre and taking a 90 minute break from carnage and mayhem was fine. It’s definitely a movie for those with the patience that want to try something now. It’s bleak, but for the first time in a while actually gives a little break in gene of zombie-human relations.
