Very well done film that only occasionally falls into the trappings and tropes of a typical biopic. Timothee Chalamet really captures the essence of Dylan and nails his mannerisms down to a T. I will be happy if he takes home the Oscar for Best Actor. Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, and Edward Norton give great supporting performances as well. Got to hand it to both Chalamet and Barbaro for actually taking the time to learn how to sing and play…

Possessor 2020
Just rewatched this tonight for spooky season and it only reaffirmed my belief that this movie is nothing short of a modern horror/sci-fi masterpiece and Brandon Cronenberg is one of the best directors working today. I would go as far as to say this is on par with the elder Cronenberg’s early classics. Everything from the shocking violence to haunting and dreamlike imagery is exquisitely crafted. Both Andrea Risenbrough and Christopher Abbott give stellar performances with nonverbal acting that perfectly captures their characters’ states of mind. There is a reason why this movie is now in my top 5 horror movies of all time.

Just watched this movie for the second time and I truly believe, in spite of some of the backlash it has received, that it is a horror masterpiece. Everything from the performances to the cinematography create an unsettling vibe that permeates and builds throughout the entire movie. The movie also has some quite effective jump scares that feel like they are earned. Some of the haunting imagery in this movie I won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
