A new spin, which actually worked quite well for me. Twisters exists as a sequel merely in name, not in plot or characters, which I believe really helps to make this story work. Brand new characters are able to be developed freely, with no corny references to previous characters.
Additionally, this movie is quite enjoyable to watch, providing many thrills throughout its runtime. Not a perfect movie, but a very good disaster movie.
Although TRAP does not boast “best movie” vibes: from its somewhat silly dialogue and corny plot lines. Rather, TRAP truly exists as the most Shyamalan film to date, a beautifully shot and technical marvel, pulling us into the mind of Josh Hartnett. Although the film is not perfect, I quite enjoyed it, finding myself quite entertained throughout the runtime. The movie is even better on second viewing, and allowed myself to just take it what it was. Super happy Shyamalan has continued making films, and am excited to see where he goes next!
