He had me in the first half of the movie, but then it became a cliff note version of itself just hitting the rest of the major plot points in the book with zero setup or explanation.
Very weird and whacky Harkonen scenes with some crazy body horror.
The final battle scenes were hilariously, deliciously bad.

War bad
This is basically a thriller movie
with an interesting delve into the psychology of what it means to be a war journalist/photographer.This movie does not even try to present a believeable war or motivations beyond the surface level. Instead it aims to confront you with the "spectacle" of a 2nd American civil war. At no point are nukes brought up, among other things, and suspending your disbelief is a heavy lift toward the end.

Crazy nitpick i know, but the way the baby creature at the end grew to over 20 times its size within 2 minutes with nothing to feed on really ruined the ending portion for me.
Pretty decent horror flick besides though.
